Meta Connect 2025: New Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2, Oakley Meta Vanguard, and Meta Ray-Ban Display Redefine Smart Glasses

Meta kicked off its Connect 2025 event with a big push into next-generation wearable tech. CEO Mark Zuckerberg took the stage to reveal three major smart eyewear launches—the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2, the Oakley Meta Vanguard, and the first-ever Meta Ray-Ban Display with a wristband controller. Alongside the hardware, Meta also announced Horizon TV, a new entertainment hub for Quest headsets that brings Disney+, Prime Video, and other streaming platforms into an immersive VR experience.

The headline product is the second-generation Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, which now offer up to eight hours of battery life on a single charge—double the endurance of the original 2023 model. The charging case has also been upgraded to provide 48 hours of backup power, up from 32 hours previously.
A new 12MP camera captures 3K Ultra HD video at 60fps with HDR support, while 32GB of internal storage ensures plenty of space for photos and videos. Meta will soon roll out software updates adding hyperlapse and slow-motion recording across all Ray-Ban Meta glasses.
These upgraded glasses are available in the classic Wayfarer, Skyler, and Headliner frames, starting at $379.

Neural Wristband Control

Meta’s First AR Glasses Are Here

Meta has officially unveiled the Meta Ray-Ban Display, its first-ever augmented reality (AR) smart glasses designed to merge everyday fashion with cutting-edge technology. Priced at $799 and launching on September 30, 2025 in the US, these futuristic glasses promise to revolutionize the way we stay connected and access digital information.

Key Features of the Meta Ray-Ban Display

Immersive Heads-Up Display

The glasses feature transparent AR lenses that function as a heads-up display (HUD). Users can view text messages, app alerts, AI prompts, navigation directions, and even real-time subtitles directly in their field of vision. The device also supports video calls, Spotify playback, and photo capture—all without reaching for your smartphone.

Meta Neural Band: Next-Level Control

What makes the Meta Ray-Ban Display truly unique is the Meta Neural Band, a sleek wristband powered by surface electromyography (sEMG). This advanced technology reads tiny muscle movements in your wrist, allowing you to write messages in the air or control apps with subtle finger gestures.
Whether you’re responding to a WhatsApp message or navigating a city street, this wristband offers a level of precision far beyond traditional smartwatch gestures.

Pricing and Availability

The Meta Ray-Ban Display will launch on September 30, 2025, at a starting price of $799. It will be sold through select retailers including Best Buy, LensCrafters, Ray-Ban, and Verizon to ensure proper fitting for the Neural Band.
A global rollout is planned for early 2026, with availability in Canada, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom.

The Future of Wearable Technology

Meta’s smart glasses currently support only Meta apps, but the company plans to expand to third-party platforms to drive mass adoption. With Apple and Google also exploring AR wearables, the Meta Ray-Ban Display signals a bold step toward a smartphone-free future, where smart glasses could become the next must-have device.
