Spotify is making music streaming more convenient for iPhone users by allowing them to ask Siri to play content without saying “on Spotify.” With this feature, users can make more natural voice requests, and Siri can direct them to Spotify automatically.

Play Music, Podcasts, and Audiobooks with Siri

Previously, users often had to mention Spotify explicitly when asking Siri to play music through the app. With the new functionality, they can simply say commands such as “Play workout music,” “Resume my podcast,” or “Play my favourite album.”

Users can also access supported Spotify features, including personalized music recommendations, Spotify DJ, library searches, and AI-powered Prompted Playlists. This makes hands-free listening more convenient while driving, exercising, or completing everyday tasks.

How Does the New Feature Work?

The feature allows Siri to recognize a user's preferred music app and direct audio requests accordingly. For people who regularly use Spotify, this could eliminate the need to specify the streaming service with every command.

The integration aims to deliver a smoother listening experience by making voice interactions simpler and more intuitive.

Which iPhones Support This Feature?

According to the information provided by Spotify, the feature is available globally on compatible iPhones, including the iPhone 15 Pro and later supported models. Apple Intelligence must be enabled in Settings, and availability is restricted in the European Union.

Users should also check for Spotify app updates and confirm device compatibility before trying the feature.

Final Thoughts

Spotify's Siri integration aims to make music streaming easier through natural voice commands. By reducing the steps needed to play content, Spotify could offer iPhone users a more seamless listening experience.
