Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025: Z Fold7, Z Flip7, Budget-Friendly Z Flip7 FE and Galaxy Watch 8 Take Center Stage
Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event lived up to the hype, bringing major upgrades to its foldable lineup and wearables. From the ultra-thin Galaxy Z Fold7 to the more affordable Galaxy Z Flip7 FE and a redesigned Galaxy Watch 8, here’s everything you need to know about Samsung’s latest innovations.
Galaxy Z Fold7: Samsung’s Thinnest and Lightest Foldable Yet
The Galaxy Z Fold7 headlines this year’s Unpacked event with a slimmer and lighter profile. Measuring just 8.9mm when folded and weighing around 215 grams, it’s a dramatic step forward from the Z Fold6. Samsung achieved this sleek design partly by removing S Pen support, allowing the phone to ditch the extra digitizer layer.
Despite its thinner frame, the Fold7 packs premium hardware:
-
Displays: A larger 8-inch inner screen and a 6.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover display with enhanced durability thanks to Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2.
-
Performance: Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 3nm chipset for flagship speed and efficiency.
-
Camera: A massive 200MP main sensor with AI-powered Photo Assist for object removal, resizing, and generative fill.
-
Battery & Storage: A 4,400mAh battery with storage options up to 1TB.
Pricing starts at $1,999, with pre-orders already open and sales beginning July 25.
Galaxy Z Flip7: Bigger Displays and Smarter AI
The Galaxy Z Flip7 also gets a meaningful redesign, featuring a new 4.1-inch edge-to-edge FlexWindow cover screen with ultra-thin bezels and a 6.9-inch main display. The clamshell foldable offers a 120Hz refresh rate, 2,600 nits peak brightness, and Google Gemini AI integration alongside Samsung’s own Galaxy AI tools like Now Bar and Now Brief for real-time updates, traffic summaries, and personalized content.
Under the hood, the Flip7 runs on Samsung’s own 3nm Exynos 2500 processor and packs a 4,300mAh battery, the largest ever in the Flip series. Its camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor and 12MP ultrawide lens, plus 10-bit HDR capture for pro-level photos.
The Z Flip7 starts at $1,100 with 256GB or 512GB storage options.
Galaxy Z Flip7 FE: A More Affordable Foldable Option
For those looking to try a foldable without breaking the bank, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE at a lower starting price of $899. Essentially an updated Z Flip6, the FE model features a 6.7-inch main screen, a 3.4-inch cover display, an Exynos 2400 chip, and a 4,000mAh battery. While it lacks the advanced edge-to-edge FlexWindow display of the Flip7, it still supports Samsung’s Galaxy AI suite, making it a great entry point into the foldable world.
Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic: Sleeker Design with More Power
Samsung’s wearables also saw a refresh. The Galaxy Watch 8 features a thinner “squircle” design, a brighter 3,000-nit AMOLED display, and larger batteries (325mAh for 40mm, 435mAh for 44mm) for longer life. It’s the first Samsung smartwatch to run Wear OS 6 and integrates Google Gemini AI for smarter voice interactions.
A standout new health feature lets users measure antioxidant levels in the blood by placing the watch’s heart-rate scanner on their thumb. The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic retains the fan-favorite rotating bezel and packs a larger 445mAh battery.
Pricing starts at $350 for the Watch 8 and $500 for the Classic, with pre-orders open now.
Samsung Wallet and Other Updates
Samsung also announced a Buy Now, Pay Later option for Samsung Wallet, building on previous Tap to Transfer and Instant Installment features, making it easier to finance your next Galaxy purchase.
Final Take
With the Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Flip7, budget-friendly Z Flip7 FE, and the smarter, sleeker Galaxy Watch 8 series, Samsung continues to dominate the foldable market in 2025. Whether you’re after cutting-edge performance, AI-powered photography, or a more affordable foldable experience, this year’s Unpacked event delivers something for everyone.
